Who for :
Students :

  • From outside the European Union
  • Within the context of governmental co-operation policies and agreements.
  • Holding a diploma of 1st level in Higher Education

Studies:

  • Veterinary course : 5 years duration
  • The Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine is delivered by the University but it does not allow practise of medicine on French territory.

Application :
The application form can be obtained in the candidate's country of origin through the French Embassy who will put forward an opinion - specific form available at the "Bureau des Etudiants Etrangers".

Admission :
The candidate's application will be accepted or rejected by the Dean's Council in July.

Placement : in one of the four French veterinary colleges, depending on the number of vacant places.

Complementary Education
Foreign veterinarians and veterinary Doctors may also attend specialist training sessions at the National Veterinary College of Toulouse.

Application and admission conditions
Phase 1 : Academic admission
The admission form should be sent to the Director of the National Veterinary College of Toulouse and must be supported with the following documents :

  • A detailed letter of application to become a student at the ENVT in which the applicant indicates the discipline they wish to specialise in.
    In relation to the discipline, the following elements should be indicated:
    • the nature of the work,
    • the type of research,
    • the animal species concerned,
  • In relation to the candidate:
    • A curriculum vitae and list of publications.
    • Diplomas held, the university and country of origin.

The application for admission in the service concerned will then be considered.
Phase 2 : Administrative admission
Necessary papers :

  • Authorisation or support from the government in the applicant's home country.
  • Certificate testifying that the applicant has been granted a scholarship to meet their living costs once in France. The applicant will also have to pay a fee to the host laboratory to meet the expenses arising from their research work. This fee is inclusive and has been set at 399 Euros per month (2002-03). Payment is compulsory.
  • A certificate of social security coverage in case of sickness or accident and a civil liability certificate should the trainee cause an accident.

Further information
Services on site include a University restaurant during the academic year but no residential facilities.
