ENVT / INRA JOINT RESEARCH GROUP 1089
Xenobiotics
Présentation
The Xenobiotics research group is part of the "Nutrition, Feeding and Food Safety" department of the National Institute for Agronomic Research (INRA).
It brings together an important INRA laboratory and a research team from the ENVT. The group maintains toxicological surveillance in order to guarantee food safety at consumer level ; it is also involved in research for disease prevention through feeds.
It is composed of three teams studying:
- the effect of feeds on human colon cancer,
- the transfer of Xenobiotics through the food chain and into the environment
- the metabolism of these "foreign-to-life" substances in animals (mammals, birds, fishes)
- the genesis and dynamics of residues in animals and plants
- the biologic signatures allowing to determine the nature of feeds and treatments (GMOs for instance)
