Chromosomal Analyses
Objectives : research and characterisation of chromosomal abnormalities
responsible for clinical problems (decrease in fertility, prolificacy, genetic
defects) which have a significant economic impact on husbandry. The
work concentrates on cattle, swine and horses. Controls are also carried
out in order to characterise the chromosomal status of wild boar
populations.
Overseeing abnormalities among cattle herds.
Objective : epidemiological surveillance of abnormalities (mainly
congenital ones) with a possible genetic origin. The laboratory is a national
observation post where clinical records and samples taken on affected
individuals and their progeny are centralised.
